Director Sergio Garrone brings together the classic elements of Italian horror cinema of the 70s: effective underground settings, nude girls and vivid splatter scenes. The special effects were done by Carlo Rambaldi, before the Oscars won with Alien and E.T. - The Extra-Terrestrial.
