• Plot: This big-screen Technicolor theatrical film, based on the popular TV series, produced by Jack Wrather and released by Warner Bros. exemplifies the archetypal 1950's western in which good triumphs over evil. It is up to the Masked Rider of the Plains and his faithful Indian companion Tonto to foil an Indian war before blood is shed across the plains. The Lone Ranger (Clayton Moore) and Tonto (Jay Silverheels) will have to confront the evil rancher, Reece Kilgore (Lyle Bettger), who instigated the Indian war in order to further his goal of becoming an all-power-ful land baron. To get close to the bad guys and foil their plans, the Lone Ranger adopts a couple of clever disguises, while never giving up his true identity. There is plenty of action and no overt killing, thus The Long Ranger is ideal family entertainment. Bonita Granville, who co-produced the film with her husband Jack Wrather portrays the supporting leading lady.
