The show focused on Kate Bradley, the widowed owner of the Shady Rest Hotel, her three daughters Billie Jo, Bobbie Jo, Betty Jo and goold old Uncle Joe. The humoruous story lines came from Kate's involvement with her daughters' love lives, her fights with the railroad taht ran through Hooterville, her association with townspeople and her hair-raising money making schemes. This long-running show was on the top of the charts throughout its seven year stint.
