The journey to Jayne Mansfield begins in Dallas, where a sweet, not so dumb, high school student decides that her 'blonde bombshell' looks might be her ticket to Hollywood stardom. But Jayne doesn't want to be just a starlet. She longs for serious roles that will give her a chance to use her talent. Mickey can only watch her heart-wrenching struggle, as Jayne fights against her stereotype as a ditzy blonde, but each encounter sends her deeper into despair. Soon, the search for better movie roles begins and ends with a bottle in her hands. Painfully, Mickey and Jayne's relationship crumbles, neither of them aware of the looming tragedy that is about to strike - and change everything.
