Instead she's darkly drawn to her son's young tutor, Aleksei, and she's not the only one. Her teenage stepdaughter, Vera, is smitten as well, and the two women find themselves snared in a complex web of unrequited love, guilt, lust and jealousy whose consequences will shake their world to its core.;
